I'm an IT Support Technician in Troy, Michigan, and a Computer Science student at the University of Michigan–Dearborn. By day I keep enterprise systems running for real users with real problems. By night I'm learning to build for the web — and using that work as a launching pad toward a career in software engineering.
Where I am right now
IT Support is my current role and my real-world classroom. I serve as the primary point of contact for all technology issues at Best Choice Insurance Agency — troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, managing user accounts, setting up workstations, and documenting recurring issues to reduce repeat tickets.
But the part of the work I've always loved most is the moment when a small script, a smart automation, or a thoughtful tool replaces a recurring problem. That feeling is what made me want to build software, not just support it.
What I'm learning
Right now I'm focused on the web — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Swift, and the patterns that make modern sites feel polished. The portfolio you're reading is the proof of work: built from scratch in vanilla code, designed deliberately, and shipped publicly.
I'm also building client websites — I recently built the site for Best Choice Insurance Agency and provided web and IT support for Real Estate Advantage. Every project teaches me something new about how software serves real users.
Where I'm going
The long-term plan is software engineering. I'm pursuing a BS in Computer Science at UM-Dearborn while working full-time. I'd rather build something small, real, and finished every couple of months than burn out chasing a tutorial maze.
I'm writing about the path on the blog — what I'm learning, what's confusing me, and what carries over from the IT side.

Outside of work
Travel (the kind that involves a passport stamp), writing and reading, driving around exploring Metro Detroit, and constantly learning more about the tech world. Also: any tool that quietly does a tedious job for you — and long walks while debugging something in my head that I'll pretend I solved at the keyboard.
